    Job Overview

     

    The Lead Time & Attendance Analyst is a critical member of the HRIS team, responsible for the advanced administration, optimization, and compliance of the organization's time and attendance systems. This role demands deep system expertise, exceptional analytical capabilities, and robust logical thinking to ensure accurate time capture, complex pay rule configuration, and precise reporting, ultimately supporting compliant and efficient payroll processing. The Lead Analyst will play a key role in troubleshooting intricate system issues and driving continuous improvement.

    Job Responsibilities

    Time & Attendance System Management & Optimization

     

    + Administer, configure, and maintain the primary time and attendance system

    + Design, implement, and rigorously test complex pay rules, policies, and accrual calculations to accurately reflect company policies.

    + Identify opportunities for system enhancements, automation, and process improvements to increase efficiency and data accuracy within time and attendance workflows.

    + Manage and support system upgrades, patches, and integrations with other HRIS and payroll platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.

     

    Data Integrity & Analysis

     

    + Conduct proactive and reactive audits of timecard data, pay codes, and system configurations to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance.

    + Apply advanced analytical and logical reasoning skills to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex time and attendance discrepancies, calculation errors, and system anomalies.

    + Develop, generate, and analyze complex reports and dashboards for payroll, HR, finance, and operational leadership, providing actionable insights.

    + Monitor system performance and data quality, implementing corrective actions as needed.

     

    Compliance & Reporting

     

    + Support internal and external audits by providing accurate time and attendance data, documentation, and explanations of system logic.

    + Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, pay rules, processes, and troubleshooting guides.

     

    Support & Training

     

    + Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for all time and attendance system functionality, providing advanced-tier support and guidance to HR, Payroll, managers, and employees.

    + Collaborate closely with HR, IT, and external vendors to resolve technical issues and implement system solutions.

    + Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to various user groups on effective system utilization and best practices.

     

    Required Education and Experience

     

    + Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related analytical field.

    + 4 years of progressive experience in time and attendance system administration, with a strong emphasis on complex pay rule configuration, system optimization, and data management.

    + Demonstrated in-depth expertise with a major enterprise-level time and attendance system (e.g., Kronos Workforce Central/Dimensions, UKG Pro WFM, Workforce Software).

    + Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and logical problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to dissect complex issues and derive effective solutions.

    + Strong understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws, including overtime, holiday, and other time-related compliance requirements.

    + Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data validation), and experience with cloud solution report writing.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.

    + Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

     

    Preferred Education and Experience

     

    + 4-8 years of experience in time and attendance system administration.

    + Experience with time and attendance system implementations, migrations, or major module rollouts.

    + Experience working in a manufacturing or multi-site organizational environment.

     

    Working Conditions

     

    • Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.

    • Work is performed in an office setting.
