Summary of Role:
The Sr. Specialist for US Immigration and Mobility manages the immigration process for individuals, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Responsibilities include advising on visa applications, preparing, and reviewing legal documents, staying updated on immigration policies, and collaborating with government agencies/ third party vendors. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for effectively navigating the complexities of immigration procedures and providing guidance to employees.
This individual will also support the Mobility team with queries, should understand the GF Mobility policies and processes and help drive Mobility initiatives and improvements while working with our internal stakeholders and external partners.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Employee Consultation: Excellent consultative and communication skills with the ability to partner and articulate complex details to colleagues at varying levels of seniority. Conduct consultations with employees to assess their immigration needs. - Provide clear and accurate information on visa options, eligibility criteria, and potential challenges.
+ Document Preparation: Prepare and review immigration documents, including visa applications, petitions, and supporting materials. Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted within specified timelines.
+ Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about changes in immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
+ Case Management: Manage a portfolio of immigration cases, tracking progress and deadlines. Coordinate with government agencies, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to facilitate the immigration process.
+ Communication: Strong interpersonal communication skills and relationship building skills required. Communicate regularly with employees, keeping them informed about the status of their cases. - Liaise with vendors, government officials, consulates, and embassies to resolve issues and gather necessary information.
+ Problem Resolution: Identify and address challenges or obstacles in the immigration and Mobility process. Develop creative solutions to navigate complex scenarios for permanent hires and assignments.
+ Training and Education: Provide training sessions or materials to internal staff regarding immigration policies and best practices with the collaboration of the immigration supplier. Stay updated on industry trends and share knowledge within the organization.
+ Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee information and case details. Generate reports on immigration activities and outcomes as needed.
+ Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing timely updates. Ensure a positive employee experience throughout the immigration and Mobility process.
+ Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, legal, Relocation and Tax suppliers, and other relevant GF departments to align immigration and Mobility strategies with broader organizational goals. - Participate in interdisciplinary teams to address global mobility challenges.
+ Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in immigration and Mobility procedures. - Implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of Mobility services.
Other Responsibilities:
+ Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
+ Other duties as assigned by manager.
Required Qualifications:
+ Education: bachelor's/ master's degree in law, international relations, political science, or a related field.
+ Specialized Training: Completion of courses or certifications related to immigration law and procedures.
+ Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in immigration services, legal consulting and Global Mobility
+ Legal Knowledge: Understanding of US immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
+ Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with employees, government officials, and internal teams.
+ Analytical Abilities: Capability to analyze complex immigration cases and provide strategic solutions.
+ Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for preparing accurate and complete immigration documents.
+ Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide excellent customer service, addressing concerns and inquiries for internal customers and collaborating with Mobility team members.
+ Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with vendors, colleagues, and government representatives.
+ Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing immigration and mobility policies and procedures.
+ Ethical Conduct: - Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 4-5 years of relevant experience in Immigration
+ 2-4 years of relevant experience in Global Mobility
+ Experience partnering with suppliers and driving best in class service
+ Prior experience working in the manufacturing industry.
Expected Salary Range
$54,400.00 - $113,000.00
