JOB SUMMARY

The Prototype Assembler Specialist will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and functionality of our cutting-edge electrical and electronic equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to assemble or modify electrical or electronic equipment according to technical specifications, industry standards, and company guidelines. You will work closely with a team of engineers and other technicians to bring innovative solutions to life and contribute to the advancement of our technology.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

This highly skilled Test Prototype Assembler Specialist collaborates with Engineers and Technicians performing the following job duties:

+ Support of Engineers/Technicians with soldering, assembly, and repair of test fixtures and cable assemblies.

+ CCA rework and population of CCA with components from schematics, oral instructions, and work instructions.

+ Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of developmental requirements in preproduction projects and production support products.

+ Work assignments may be short notice and may have short timelines for completion. Fast paced work environment.

+ May perform rework and quality testing.

+ Use of test equipment to diagnose failures in cable assemblies and CCA.

+ Refurbishment/repair of complex cable assemblies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ Demonstrates expertise (typically 6+ years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position)

+ Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

+ Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Work Environment:

+ Indoors, environmentally controlled Manufacturing environment

+ Production demand may have times of increased time pressure

+ Must use required PPE

+ May involve long periods of sitting

+ May involve repetitive motions

+ Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed, with totes, etc.

+ Assembly errors may result in safety of flight and therefore require the highest level of detail and accuracy in workmanship.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

+ As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

+ An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test including cannabis.

+ Per the Code of Federal Regulations (48 CFR § 252.223-7004 - Drug-free work force), this is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug tests.

**Salary is $26.73 - $40.10 per hour.** Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
