             Description *This position requires an active Secret clearance and will require 100% travel throughout Alaska* The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems at USAF sites in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. This position requires a high level of expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: + Survey and Inspection: + Inspect electrical components, such as power panels, conduit pathways, circuit breakers and grounding systems. + Identify electrical systems using a variety of testing devices. + Safety and Compliance: + Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code. + Work with blueprints and diagrams of circuits and wiring to complete inspections. + Testing and Inspections: + Conduct resistance testing and documentation of existing ground systems. + Conduct power panel load testing. + Analyze and interpret test data to diagnose malfunctions. + Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair. + Customer Service: + Communicate effectively with clients and team. + Provide detailed and accurate reports on inspections performed. + Offer guidance on the proper usage of electrical systems and appliances to clients. Qualifications: + Education and Certification: + High school diploma or equivalent. + Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training program. + Valid Journeyman Electrician License. + Experience: + Minimum of 4 years of experience as an electrician. + Proven experience working with electrical systems in residential, commercial, and/or industrial settings. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong understanding of electrical code requirements and safety standards. + Proficient with electrical equipment and hand tools. + Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams. + Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Physical stamina and dexterity to handle electrical tasks. + Strong communication skills. + Ability to work independently and in a team environment. + Strong work ethic and reliability Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.67/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
