As a **Principal Product Manager** on the WIP leadership team, you will own the strategy and execution for how Windows ships new experiences and devices, influencing critical engineering decisions and collaborating across engineering, marketing, legal, and leadership.
Your primary mission is to evolve Windows release strategies—from feature deployment and hardware enablement to staged rollouts for internal and external audiences. You will own product strategy for release systems, flighting infrastructure, and data platforms, synthesizing inputs from customer feedback, telemetry, technical capabilities, and cross-team plans to determine what ships, when, and how.
You’ll collaborate with engineering counterparts to integrate frontier AI capabilities, designing AI agents and leveraging plugin-based protocols to simplify systems and accelerate delivery. Success in this role requires a first-principles mindset, deep technical curiosity, and the ability to translate complexity into actionable engineering plans.

Responsibilities
+ Drive strategy for Windows flighting systems, and feature delivery platforms.
+ Translate customer feedback, validation data, and release signals into actionable engineering decisions.
+ Own product strategy for delivering experiences to Windows Insiders and internal validation audiences.
+ Champion customer voice within engineering, ensuring real-world data shapes product decisions.
+ Collaborate across multiple engineering, data science, PR, marketing, and legal teams on disclosure and rollout of new features and hardware enablement.
+ Define and track metrics for program health, effectiveness, and customer trust.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 6+ years of product/program management with a track record of shipping data-powered features or platforms at scale.
+ Ability to influence without authority across engineering, data science, and servicing teams; excellent written and spoken communication skills.
+ Experience demonstrating analytical skills with ability to use data to drive decisions and measure outcomes
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ **Microsoft Cloud Background Check** : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in Product Marketing.
+ Deep technical understanding of large software systems, platform engineering, or developer tools.
+ Experience working with AI/ML systems and design patterns.
+ Track record of building and evolving customer feedback programs at scale.
+ Experience communicating with technical communities and executives.
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
