Job Description The Sr. DC Security Department Lead will support in leading a safe & secure work environment at their respective Distribution Center. They will foster a strong safe & secure culture through effective coaching, teaching, and training of all team members who work within the guardhouse as well as support the execution of company security initiatives as directed by the Regional Safety Manager. This position reports to: Regional Safety Manager Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities • Under the direction of the Regional Safety Manager, this role will plan, direct and implement the organization’s security programs to ensure a safe, secure, professional and accident-free work environment and all operations to comply with all applicable federal, state, county and local security-related regulations • Work in tandem with the Regional Safety Manager to determine security goals, support new hire team members to ensure they are trained, performing well and working safely. • Support the implementation of safety and security training as well as teach, coach, and train team members to work safe daily. • Ensure all guards, including self, are in proper uniform attire. • Ensure daily/weekly tasks and yard/security audits are equally assigned and completed throughout the week. • Review Daily Security Exterior Audits and ensure they are being completed at minimum once per shift. • Check in all in-bound and out-bound deliveries as described in company policies and procedures • Positively and proactively work and communicate with the operations team, peers, and other levels of leadership. • Participate in continued professional development and leadership training. • Lead the team modeling Safety First. • Create a culture of accountability and ownership by holding self and team accountable to follow all policies and procedures. • Have willingness to learn all areas of the Security role center and to work a flexible (outside of normal shift) schedule when business needs dictate (possible early/late shifts, off shifts, etc.). • Keep management informed of new or revised rules and ensure all security-related compliance requirements are met. • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. • Ensure all PTO is acknowledged and covered. • Ensure the company Security Vehicle is being signed out and kept in cleanly standings. • Partner with the Regional Safety Manager and Allied Supervisor to ensure there is coverage for requested shifts along with potential replacements if needed. • ADC specific: Support the DTs for their scope of role and functionality. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications • At least 18 years of age • High school diploma or equivalent. • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. • Working knowledge of security technology such as CCTV systems and Access Control Systems. • Strong communication and organizational skills. • Ability to pay close attention to detail. • Interest in protecting the people and assets within the organization. Environmental Job Conditions • Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance. • Located in an indoor/outdoor environment with exposure to changing temperatures, including heat and cold, snow, rain, noise and dust. • Perform repetitive, dexterous movements related to computer use and data entry • When needed stand, sit, bend, twist, lift for up to 8 hours a day • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $24.00.
