    Worldwide Sales & Solutions (WSS) drives business growth through creating new industry market opportunity, increased sales and consumption with industry solutions, strategic deal origination and acceleration, depth and scale engagements, co-engineering, partner ecosystem success and go-to-market scale across Microsoft Commercial Solution Areas. Building on this organizational charter, the Communications & Events team delivers business value for Microsoft by driving storytelling at scale, showcasing our differentiated value prop and customer/partner evidence.

     

    The WSS Communications and Events team is seeking an experienced, dynamic and creative Sr. Communications Manager. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of WSS Comms & Events and will be responsible for leading both external and internal communications for some of our leaders. You will work directly with the leaders and their Chiefs of Staff, and members of their Leadership Teams to drive business impact and thought leadership. This is a strategic role that provides significant opportunity for exec visibility, cross-team collaboration, a breadth of communication experience and business impact.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    + Develop communications strategy forleadersand drive execution and scale of plans to deliver business impact and help increase sales pipeline

    + Develop core messaging and narrative to bring the mission and business priorities to life through dynamic storytelling.

    + Demonstrate strategic leadership by driving impactful messaging for thebusiness, aligning with the company mission, strategy, leadershipprinciplesand cultural attributes.

    + Act as single-point-of-contact for any internal or external, speaking, traditional and social media requests for theleaders- partnering withappropriate teamsto triage, check for alignment to strategy and team priorities and ensure that positioning and tone isappropriate forexec engagement.

    + Create and align communications plans to RoB and broader communications.

    + Drive and execute an orchestrated and thoughtful social media strategy.

    Qualifications

    Required/minimum qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.

    + 7+ experience years executive/internal communications experience, marketing communications or speech management.

    + Experience leading project teams and working with senior executives in fast paced, high pressure, often ambiguous environments.

    + Experience working with strategic planning, business acumen, and flawless execution, with a strong focus on precision and attention to detail.

    + Possesses exceptional verbal and written communication skills, leveraging storytelling to simplify complex concepts and provide clear, actionable recommendations for diverse audiences.

    Additional or preferred qualifications

    + Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.

    + 4+ years specialized functional (e.g., retail, technology) experience.

    + Familiarized with thetechindustryand Microsoft’sstrategy, product and service offerings, and company culture.

    + Ambitious, self-starter, thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, effectively manages priorities.

    + Executive presence and confidence, willing to take on big challenges, advocate a position, build a business case, and influence others.

    + Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and functions, working independently to achieve shared goals.

    + Demonstrates interpersonal and conflict resolutions skills.

    + Familiarized with the social media landscape and how to amplify the voice of a leader.

    + Demonstrates high integrity, capable of excellent judgement and decision-making skills, showing the utmost discretion in the management of confidential corporate information.

     

    Communications IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
