The DC Facilities Manager (FM) is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations of a distribution facility. This role ensures the timely repair and upkeep of all facility systems and equipment, maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient environments. The FM leads maintenance teams and coordinates with external vendors to execute preventative maintenance programs, respond to urgent facility needs, and support capital improvement projects. The FM is on call 24/7 for all emergencies on the DC property.
The FM works under the guidance of the Sr. Regional Facilities Manager and collaborates closely with site leadership and operations teams to deliver facility solutions that support high operational readiness and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Key Leadership within the DC and plays a role in all incident reviews and collaborates with other leadership on team member corrective action decisions.
+ Develops and executes preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
+ Accountable for vendors and contractors’ response times and quality of repairs to ensure company investments are within business expectations.
+ Monitor and maintain building systems (Automation systems, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, etc.). Must be available 24/7 to support operations.
+ Ensure building and physical assets are in compliance with OSHA, EPA, local and federal regulations, and company policies.
+ Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, maintenance and repair records of every asset within CMMS platforms (e.g., Verisae, Limble).
+ Collaborates with DC leadership in the planning and execution of facility improvement projects as directed by the Sr. Regional Facility Manager or DC Director.
+ Manage inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies to ensure operational readiness 24/7.
+ Support the Sr. Facility Manager with budget tracking, vendor performance evaluations, team member performance evaluations and reporting.
+ Act as key point of contact for BJ’s insurer’s, building owner’s and regulatory inspections.
+ Accountable to the Sr. Regional Facility Manager and the DC Director for DC repair and maintenance expenses and capital improvements.
+ Continuously reviews and negotiates with vendors to seek process improvements through new technology and achieve cost reductions.
+ Promote and enforce safety practices among the maintenance team.
Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
+ 2+ years of supervisory or lead technician experience preferred.
+ Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, etc.).
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS); experience with Verisae a plus.
+ Ability to interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with systems like ARIBA, WM, and Limbe is a plus.
+ Flexibility to work off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:
+ Regular travel to regional facilities may be required (up to 25%).
+ Adhere to safety standards and participate in safety training programs.
+ Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.
Physical Demands/Job Conditions:
+ Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; may occasionally lift heavier or awkward items over 50 pounds with assistance.
+ Perform repetitive computer-related tasks such as data entry and typing.
+ Ability to stand, sit, bend, twist, and lift for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours daily).
+ Frequently walk on hard surfaces within various operational areas.
+ Work is primarily conducted indoors in a comfortable environment, with occasional exposure to fluctuating temperatures, including cold environments as low as -20°F.
+ Must be on call 24/7 and available to work flexible hours, weekends, nights, and holidays, as required by business needs. This includes working extended periods during business-critical needs.
+ Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and insulated clothing.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $100,500.00.
