Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Supply Planner within our Infrastructure Planning and Execution (IPE) team, you will perform a key role in planning the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform for both Artificial Intelligence and Commercial Cloud businesses.

Responsibilities
Analytics, Tools, and Processes
Manages data sources for analyzing supply. Translates data into business insights for senior leaders to provide meaning for the organization's goals. Interprets data to help make assumptions or predictions of business needs for component or product level. Designs and optimizes processes regarding overall data management and utilization. Manages process improvements, actions, and reports progress. Oversees the creation of dashboards to visualize and present supply-chain analysis and metrics. Leads the identification of gaps in order to understand the root cause. Uses data for insights to inform business improvements. Leverages increasingly complex datasets to synthesize insights.
Serves as an expert in tools and processes for managing supply and driving improvements to avoid additional labor needs. Provides automation and scales systems for inventory. Implements and provides oversight for checks and balances into the system to ensure risks and liability are in check. Summarizes complex systems or processes into simplified supply chain fundamental steps. Drives process changes and improvements. Guides standardization and maturity processes. Beginning to coach and mentor other team members with challenges.
Communication
Serves as a key point of contact between teams to ensure priorities are defined, communicated, and executed. Communicates with stakeholders, including senior leaders. Communicates status, drives recommendations for change, and influences others for decisions needed. Simplifies complex terminology for stakeholders.
Strategy
Applies strategy of how to react to determine best operating model for forward and reverse planning strategy to optimize service levels, costs, and inventory positioning based on uncertainty of true demand. Collaborates with the team developing the strategy for AI and non-AI Commercial Cloud demand and supply. Aligns forecast/order and/or inventory targets. Identifies process gaps, establishes a methodology for prioritization, and makes recommendations to leadership. Aligns recommendations with cross-functional partners. Drives efficiencies and sets performance metrics. Addresses imbalances and proposing mitigation strategies Designs solutions to adjust to changes in demand after deployment; may oversee the reworking of finished goods inventories. Shapes demand to manage inventory. Ensures consideration for supplier capacity and manufacturing ramifications.
Supply and Demand
Independently develops and influences forward or reverse supply plans of increasing scope, scale, and size of decisions. Collaborates with team to determine raw materials buffers and flexibility to absorb fluctuations in demand. Collaborates and promotes alignment on plans; cross-functional relationships (e.g., Finance, other partners).
Conducts analysis and determines "what-if" scenarios impacting supply and demand management for forward and reverse planning. Supports and helps lead contingency plans and impact assessments. Drives allocation processes.
Qualifications
Required Qualification:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
+ OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 1+ years of Infrastructure planning and/or sourcing experience within a tech environment.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 5+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
+ OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 4+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
+ OR equivalent experience.
Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
