    Job Summary

    Hill York seeks a Pipefitter who lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, welds, and maintains piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    + Layout, fit, assemble, and install various pipe systems

    + Inspect work for correct installation and best practices for specifications

    + Follow detailed work and plans of installation for job

    + Cuts pipe using saw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine

    + Threads pipe using threading machine

    + Bends pipe using pipe bending tools

    + Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including steel, copper, HDPE, and PVC

    + Connects pipes using threaded, welding, grooved, soldered, brazes, fused, and hand tools

    + Secures pipes to structure with brackets, anchors, pipe stands, clamps, and hangers

    + Determine the appropriate welding equipment and methods based on project requirements

    + Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded

    + Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions such as vertical, horizontal, or overhead

    Qualifications

    + Ability to read and understand blueprints, documents, and submittals

    + Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

    + Ability to bend and twist

    + Ability to push, pull, lift, carry up to 60lbs

    + Ability to climb ladders
