    The Emerging Capabilities Development group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative **Software Engineer Level 2 or 3** for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL), **full time on-site** - located outside of the **Baltimore area** (Linthicum, Maryland) - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

     

    Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground based radars, avionic radars, and space systems.     Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly. The candidate must be a strong team participant, have excellent communication skills, and be resourceful and multitalented. An understanding of semiconductor technology, metrology processes, and equipment engineering is essential.

    What you'll get to do:

    + Maintain, troubleshoot, and update custom ETL (extract, transform, load) software solutions.

    + Engage with stakeholders to decipher requirements, deliver capability, and improve these systems.

    + Showcase your aptitude for data analysis and technology development.

    + Collaborate with other teams across the ATL on overarching software development projects.

     

    This position is weekend-based, from Friday through Monday between 8 AM and 6 PM. You'll be working four 10-hour shifts each week with days 3 days off, Tuesday-Thursday, allowing for greater work-life balance.

     

    _This position may be filled as a Software Engineer Level 2 or Software Engineer Level 3._

    Basic Qualifications for a Software Engineer Level 2:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, OR Master’s degree in one of the previously mentioned disciplines with 0 years of experience.

    + Must be proficient in all of the following: Python, JavaScript, Shell scripting and SQL.

    + Familiar with Full stack web development and Object-oriented programming.

    + Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with small technical teams

    + US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance required.

    Basic Qualifications for a Software Engineer Level 3:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, OR Master’s degree in one of the previously mentioned disciplines with 3 years of experience, OR PhD in one of the previously mentioned disciplines with 1 year of experience.

    + Must be proficient in all of the following: Python, JavaScript, Shell scripting and SQL.

    + Familiar with Full stack web development and Object-oriented programming.

    + Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with small technical teams

    + US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Semiconductor Fabrication experience/knowledge or willingness to learn.

    + Experience with the following: parsing data from custom files, MySQL or Oracle databases, Electron, React, Agile software development, developing and deploying modern websites, and/or PERL.

    + Active DoD Secret clearance.

     

    Primary Level Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $128,000.00

     

    Secondary Level Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
