The Demand Planning Senior Manager is a key driver in creating and managing customer and consumer demand signals, enabling the organization to align supply chain and company resources. This role is critical to the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
The Demand Planner leverages data insights, customer collaboration, forecasting models, and technology to improve forecast accuracy. They lead coordination with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop a consensus plan, which is then reviewed alongside the supply-planning component of S&OP.
This role supports the Refrigeration Micro Enterprise, as well as Home Depot and Best Buy accounts.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Provide Support for Supply Planning
+ Provide support for Supply Planners going through consensus supply reviews as well as reviewing the constrained demand.
+ Support supply/network planners as they adjust stocking strategies and warehouse moves.
Lead the Consensus Demand Review for each S&OP cycle
+ Assess the impact of market changes or significant variances in the forecast and recommend appropriate revisions and tactics.
+ Interact with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to understand and interpret the potential impact market trends and demand drivers can have on demand and adjust the statistical forecast to reflect those impacts.
+ Understand and communicate- cycle over cycle demand changes, MTD performance, sales rates vs prior year/budget, net new order rate, share analysis, forecast measures, etc.
+ Clearly articulate assumptions and highlight risks and opportunities of the demand plan to the business unit.
+ Highlight any gaps to plan in units and dollars to the business unit and look for opportunities to close those gaps.
+ Arrive at agreement with all business unit executive stakeholders. Escalate where consensus cannot be met.
On Going Demand Planning Work
+ Leverage demand planning metrics/analytics to identify outliers in the demand plan and correct prior to next cycle.
+ Be source of information on demand- understanding all assumptions in the plan. Provide updates on month to date (MTD) performance through S&OE meetings.
+ Support New Product Introductions (NPIs), sku transitions and end of life skus by modeling their demand through different techniques.
Provide Support for Supply Planning
+ Provide support for Supply Planners going through consensus supply reviews as well as reviewing the constrained demand.
+ Support supply/network planners as they adjust stocking strategies and warehouse moves.
Support Implementation of new Demand Planning Technology
+ Use and maintain current demand-planning system while providing support for a new tool.
+ Familiarity with the standard demand planning system features e.g., best-fit/what-if analysis, class/characteristic identification, aggregation/disaggregation, causal factors, etc. Use this knowledge to provide feedback and functional use cases for new demand planning tool.
Drive Continuous Improvement and Continuing Education
+ Make recommendations to enhance business processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.
+ Maintain outside industry recognized certification through IBF and be a curious, avid learner. Stay current on industry trends and best practices.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, finance, or related field.
+ Minimum seven (7) years relevant work experience in roles with increasing responsibility.
+ Proven ability to drive cross-functional, transformational changes that impact multiple functions while making the right business tradeoffs. Data driven decision making skills.
+ Proficiency using technology tools that enable demand planning, reporting and facilitates collaboration with external stakeholders.
+ Knowledge of Finance, Sales, Marketing, and R&D functions in a consumer package goods business.
+ This role is located at our headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky. Relocation assistance is available.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in engineering, business, finance, or related field.
+ Demand planning experience within the appliances industry or equivalent consumer business.
+ Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF) or Advanced Certified Professional Forecaster (ACPF) or other certifications in forecasting or demand planning.
+ Experience and/or certification in Six Sigma/ Lean, Value Stream Mapping and Visualization tools.
Working Conditions:
+ Working conditions are normal for both an office and manufacturing environment.
+ Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
+ Up to 10% travel may be necessary for travel to plants, suppliers, etc.
