Position Summary:
City Fleet is excited to announce an opening for the Storekeeper/Acquisition Specialist II - Automotive Parts Specialist position. This role is essential for managing supplies, services, and materials related to automotive parts, focusing on the acquisition, storage, and distribution of parts for vehicles, trucks, and off-road equipment.
The Storekeeper/Acquisition Specialist II will be responsible for a range of activities, including shipping and receiving, inventory control, customer service, and purchasing within delegated limits. Additionally, the role involves preparatory accounting tasks related to vendor payment processing.
This position will oversee acquisition and disposal activities for the City’s fleet of 3,600 vehicles and equipment. The successful candidate will receive strong support from leadership and colleagues committed to delivering exceptional customer service that aligns with the City’s Core Values.
What you'll get to do:
+ Issue automotive parts, tools, and equipment to automotive mechanics from stock supply.
+ Assemble and fill orders by requisition.
+ Pick up and delivers materials.
+ Unload, and arrange inventory and supplies on shelves, bins, or other receptacles.
+ Advise automotive mechanics regarding parts substitutions based upon specification compatibility, price and availability.
+ Order from parts suppliers including repair and replacement parts, and equipment that are not in stock, but are required immediately for a mechanical repair.
+ Check quality and number of items received against packing slips, invoices, or waybills.
+ Post information to store records and perpetual inventories.
+ Produce summaries and other reports on materials.
+ Perform physical count of materials for inventory purposes.
+ Clean storage areas and maintains work areas orderly and neat.
About the Bureau:
The Bureau of Fleet & Facilities is part of the City Operations Service Area and provides leadership and strategic support for its CityFleet and Facilities Services divisions. CityFleet acquires and maintains the City’s vehicle fleet, while Facilities Services operates and maintains a portfolio of City buildings. Facilities Services owns and operates approximately one-third of the City of Portland’s building stock, primarily the City’s office buildings, civic facilities, and public safety facilities. Facilities also provides real property services, such as leasing, real property acquisitions, and real property dispositions, to all City bureaus.

To Qualify
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
+ Experience with a wide variety of light and heavy-duty vehicle parts and supplies.
+ Knowledge of automotive equipment and internal combustion engine operating principles and repair practices.
+ Experience with the methods, forms and terminology used in the receipt, storage, and issuance of automotive parts.
+ Knowledge of computer assisted business/financial programs, business mathematics and safe working practices.
+ Experience receiving, issuing, handling, and inventorying materials.
+ Ability to read and interpret parts catalogs.

+ Have the physical strength to lift and carry weight up to 100 pounds, physical agility to stoop, reach and climb when stocking or pulling stores.
+ Be able to earn a forklift operator certification within 90 days of hire.
