13602BRJob Description:United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician who will be responsible for coordinating laboratory testing in support of quality and productions goals and facilitating the flow of steel coils through production to shipment.
Responsibilities:
+ Perform technical functions to support steelmaking operations
+ Ensuring proper quality assurance testing and that products meet our high standards of quality
+ Using computer systems to track and expedite steel coils through the production process
+ Working with production and support employees to release coils held for quality assurance purposes
+ Coordinate the quality assurance testing of steel samples to release for shipment
Requirements:
+ Must pass a written assessment
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Basic computer skills
+ The position requires 8-hour shift work, which will include Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays
+ Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines always. Safety is our core value which requires you to wear safety protection such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, boots with metatarsal protection, and when necessary, respirator equipment
+ The position requires punctuality, consistent attendance, and self-direction for the success of the operations
