The Position
The Director of Alternative Models Strategic Partnership Management is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing partnerships that align with our Alternative Models strategy, particularly focusing on non-traditional channels. This role ensures effective collaboration with key partners by establishing clear agreements, managing integration processes, and nurturing strong relationships to enhance patient access, optimize value delivery, and improve overall patient experiences.
Relationships
Reports to the Senior Director of Market Access Alternative Models. Works closely with senior directors and directors within MAPA, especially in close collaboration with the Obesity, Diabetes, and MASH team. Occasionally partners with MAPA VPs to provide insights and contribute to high-level discussions. Engages regularly with colleagues across Marketing & Patient Solutions, Executive Office / USO Strategy, Legal, Finance, and other relevant departments. Additionally, interacts daily with Alternative Models’ Director of Program Management and Director of Strategy to ensure alignment and cohesive execution of initiatives . This role places a strong emphasis on cultivating and sustaining external relationships, dedicating considerable time to engagements with telehealth providers, retail pharmacies, health insurance companies, and employee benefit managers, among others.
Essential Functions
+ Research and assess potential partners based on their alignment with NovoCare® Pharmacy Network goals and value drivers
+ Collaborate with the Director of Strategy in creating and refining a value proposition framework for partnerships, articulating the unique benefits and services provided to enhance patient access and outcomes
+ Manage partnership activities by developing unique account strategies and initiatives for each partner, ensuring alignment with overarching strategic objectives to optimize value delivery
+ Oversee the management of external stakeholders within the NovoCare® Pharmacy Network, ensuring partnerships effectively enhance patient access while maintaining a sustainable balance between traditional and alternative models
+ Draft and structure partnership agreements, ensuring clarity and mutual benefit for collaborative initiatives
+ Coordinate the integration of partnerships to ensure seamless implementation of initiatives within the NovoCare® framework, including efficient transition to program management personnel
+ Monitor and evaluate partnership effectiveness, utilizing metrics to assess the impact on operational objectives and patient outcomes
+ Develop processes for collecting insights and lessons learned from partnerships to drive improvements and inform future collaboration strategies
+ Act as the primary liaison for partners, facilitating communication and addressing issues as they arise
+ Support the Director of Strategy in developing the Alternative Model Strategy by conducting research, analyzing market dynamics, and identifying partnership opportunities
+ Work closely with the Director of Alternative Models Strategy to ensure that partnership initiatives align with broader organizational strategies
+ Identify opportunities to enhance existing partnerships based on performance data and feedback from stakeholders
Physical Requirements
10-15% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
+ A Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience. MBA, PharmD, or another advanced degree preferred
+ A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in market access strategy, payer/PBM relationships, account management, digital healthcare companies, healthcare providers, and relevant technology firms. Experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) and retail is beneficial, especially concerning customer engagement strategies and sales channel / value chain optimization
+ Proven ability to identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships across diverse sectors
+ Excellent relationship management skills to build and sustain partnerships with senior leadership, external stakeholders, and various functional teams
+ Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate a strategic vision that inspires and engages stakeholders
+ Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively convey ideas and influence diverse audiences
+ Solid analytical skills for evaluating partnership effectiveness and making data-driven decisions to refine objectives
+ Ability to work effectively across functional areas, influence outcomes, and motivate teams to drive shared objectives without direct management authority
+ Proven ability to lead large cross-functional project teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivering successful project outcomes
+ Assess partnership viability and engage with stakeholders to gather insights that support effective product distribution strategies
+ Identify and evaluate potential partnership opportunities in collaboration with the Director of Strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic access goals and organizational vision
+ Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing responsibilities and evolving dynamics within the industry, reflecting a proactive approach to challenges and opportunities

The base compensation range for this position is $181,670 to $317,920. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
