We’re looking for a Police Officer 1/2/3 to join our University Police Department in Monroe, Louisiana. The incumbent performs responsible and physically demanding armed police, law enforcement and protective services duties by patrolling LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health and surrounding properties. Serves as the vehicle patrol officer on a shift. Primary liaison with local police patrols and sheriff’s deputies concerning incidents happening on or adjacent LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health property during the shift.

Minimum Qualifications
No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license.
Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties:
EXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.
+ Performs armed patrol and law enforcement dutiesat LSU Health Sciences Center, Ochsner Health, and surrounding properties, including vehicle patrol and incident response.
+ Acts as primary liaisonwith local police and sheriff’s departments regarding on- or near-property incidents.
+ Conducts traffic enforcementfor DWI and reckless driving, and provides backup to city and sheriff patrols during criminal activity nearby.
+ Leads training and security operations, serving as shift training officer and coordinating VIP/dignitary protection and advance security assessments.
+ Works rotating shifts(day, evening, night, weekends, holidays), maintains POST certification, and upholds professional, customer-focused service while remaining at assigned post unless relieved.
