The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Senior BI Data Warehouse Developer to join our System Office’s Business Intelligence department. We’re looking for a knowledgeable developer who is also a skilled communicator. Note: This position is term-limited and funded for 22 and a half (22.5) months after the employee’s start date.

As the Senior BI Data Warehouse Developer, you will design reports and dashboards while working with end-users. The person in this position works independently and functions as an effective team member in a variety of projects related to data warehouse creation, maintenance, and reporting. The position may take on the role of support lead or analyst and focus on responding to customer issues.
+ Conceptualize and develop new reports in Cognos Report Studio.
+ Design, implement, and maintain dashboards to support system-wide strategic initiatives.
+ Perform complex data analysis.
+ Assist in defining application development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
+ Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to business requirements.
+ Train end users to operate new or modified programs.
+ Work directly with the Developers, DBAs, and Project Management Team in a collaborative, cooperative, and customer-centric environment.
+ Creation/Maintenance of documentation regarding data warehouse and associated interfaces as required.
+ Present and communicate complex data and system information to various groups and individuals in writing and verbally.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field from an accredited college or university. An equivalent combination of education and experience, in addition to the experience required below, may be substituted for the degree.
+ Three years of experience in a Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse environment as a reporting system architect and developer, including experience with:
+ Cognos Report Studio.
+ Developing reports using Oracle PL/SQL, i.e. writing PL/SQL packages, stored procedures and functions for data analysis.
Supplemental Information
Attributes that will contribute to success in this position:
+ Practiced in using Ellucian products, especially ODS/EDW.
+ Higher Education experience preferred but not required.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Experience analyzing Financial, HR, Student or Higher Education data is preferred but not required.
+ Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, triggers and stored procedures.
+ Knowledgeable of ETL tools.
+ Excellent customer service skills, for both internal and external customers.
+ Demonstrated ability to diagnose/resolve technical problems independently.
+ Ability to:
+ Work effectively on concurrent, multiple tasks and projects.
+ Coordinate, organize and track tasks effectively and meet project deadlines.
+ Keep current on technology by identifying, reading and using technical manuals and other resources.
+ Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff of varying technical expertise.
Work Location/Travel Expectations:
+ This position is located at CCCS/IT 1059 Alton Way, Denver, CO 80230.
+ May require occasional in-state travel to system community colleges or out-of-state travel to conferences.
+ Alternative work arrangements, including flexible schedules and remote work may be available. All work must be completed in the state of Colorado.
