Job Description Summary:
This position exists to provide oversight and management of knowledge-based information (KBI) resources to support clinical information needs of patient-care providers, managerial and strategic decision-making, performance improvement and patient safety, and to assist in the learning needs and professional competence of hospital and medical staff. Includes the selection, organization, dissemination, and integration of KBI resources and services into the day-to-day operations of the health system. Supports the strategic plan and mission of OhioHealth.
Responsibilities And Duties:

Information Services: locate, evaluate, synthesize, and deliver authoritative information in response to biomedical and clinical inquires; perform mediated literature searches and provide reference assistance; satisfy other associate clinical information or OhioHealth business-related requests.

Information Management: Curates and makes accessible bioscience, clinical, and health information data, information, and knowledge; manages print and online serials and database subscriptions and access; manages OPAC and other online resources, determines collection acquisitions, completes cataloging of resources, and maintains print collections; collects and analyzes usage statistics to support library information management planning and to assist in resource retention and purchasing decisions.

Instruction and Instructional Design: Educates other in the skills of bioscience, clinical, and health information literacy; provides orientation to and instruction for library resources via outreach to all OhioHealth facilities and sites.

Leadership and Management: Manages time and facilities, and utilizes technology to define and meet institutional and library services goals, accreditation needs, and to support the OhioHealth strategic plan; Practices sound financial stewardship by considering scope and relevance of all purchasing decisions in relation to department budget.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Evaluates research studies, communicates research results, and supports the patient safety initiatives and strategic plans of OHRI and OhioHealth. Participation in multi-disciplinary committees, councils, work groups, etc.

Professional Development and Other Projects, participation in professional activities and organizations, continuing education, and special projects as assigned.

Master's Degree (Required)
Additional Job Description:
Competency in searching PubMed, CINAHL, Ovid Medline, and other medical literature databases, familiarity with the principles of evidence-based practice and medical research, knowledgeable about copyright, document delivery, and subscription licensing 3 - 5 special library Experience , health sciences library preferred MLS from an ALA-accredited school or equivalent
