Job Description
To contribute news, feature and narrative articles to ODU channels, including ODU News Center. This person will also write, edit and proof copy for Monarch magazine, in addition to marketing and communication materials. This person also will collaborate with the Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing for Research as well as faculty to highlight research and innovation. This role works closely with the editors overseeing Monarch magazine and news content channels.

Considerable knowledge of journalism, communications, marketing and/or technical writing. Considerable knowledge of grammar and usage and familiarity with Associated Press style. Demonstrated ability to edit, write and proof copy and to work and communicate effectively with others.

Level and type of experience
Considerable editing, writing and proofing experience.
Some experience working within brand guidelines, working on multiple projects simultaneously and providing excellent customer service.

Considerable professional writing and editing experience in a variety of styles and formats. Some experience writing about complex topics, including scientific research, grant awards or published studies. Prior experience in higher education. Familiarity with content management systems and project management software.
Conditions of Employment
This is an on-campus position located on ODU’s main campus.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary range between $ - $57,733 - $64,260
