Special Education Teacher | $45–$50/hr | Appleton, WI | K–1 Cross-Categorical | 2025–2026 SY

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for a K–1 cross-categorical classroom in Appleton, WI. This in-person role begins ASAP and runs through the 2025–2026 school year. The teacher will support students with diverse needs across kindergarten and first grade classrooms, working closely with paraprofessionals and general education teams.

Position Details

+ Location: Appleton, WI

+ Grade Level: Kindergarten & First Grade

+ Caseload: 7 students (formerly 11; 4 reassigned)

+ Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, typical school shift

+ Start Date: November 10, 2025

+ Duration: 9 months

+ Pay Rate: $45–$50/hr

+ License Requirement: Active DPI certification

+ Openings: 1

Responsibilities

+ Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with general education curriculum

+ Coordinate and implement IEPs in collaboration with general education staff

+ Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

+ Support students in academic, social, and life skill development

+ Mentor and guide paraprofessionals supporting the classroom

+ Participate in weekly planning and team meetings:

+ Kindergarten: Thursdays at 11:00 AM

+ First Grade: Thursdays at 7:30 AM

+ PLC: Wednesdays at 7:30 AM

+ SPED Team: 2x/month on Mondays at 7:30 AM

Requirements

+ Valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license

+ Experience working in special education settings

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ LBS1 endorsement (preferred)

+ CPR certification, TB/PPD clearance, and health certificate as applicable

+ Must pass background check, drug screen, and complete required trainings

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
