High School Special Education Teacher – Adapted Curriculum (Self-Contained Classroom)

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a self-contained classroom focused on an Adapted Curriculum. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact in a district known for its strong support systems and student-centered culture.

Responsibilities:

+ Deliver instruction aligned with the Adapted Curriculum for students with exceptional needs

+ Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment

+ Collaborate with support staff, families, and administration to meet student goals

+ Monitor and document student progress

+ Implement IEPs with fidelity and compassion

Requirements:

+ Valid North Carolina teaching license in EC Adapted Curriculum K–12 (or comparable certification)

+ Minimum 1 year of experience teaching in a similar classroom setting (highly preferred)

+ Deep commitment to student success and well-being

+ Strong desire to help children grow academically, socially, and emotionally
