Position Summary
As a Commodity Manager supporting Bridgestone Retail Operations, this individual will lead all aspects of Strategic Sourcing and optimizing total value and quality for the assigned spend. In conjunction with impacted stakeholders, this position is responsible to execute and deliver optimal value in meeting business requirements, managing supplier relationships and subsequent supplier performance. Scope of assignment includes data collection, market analysis and competitive assessments.
Responsibilities
+ Manage procurement process for designated categories, reduce the total cost of ownership while increasing overall value.
+ Engage the supply base and internal partners to identify and implement supply optimization strategies, operational strategies and cost reduction initiatives.
+ Provide procurement support to all functional areas, ensuring procurement representation and participation in all issues related to meeting business requirements.
+ Work with cross functional teams to determine needs that best align with planned spend while meeting necessary standards.
+ Analyze market trends and report substantial issues / resolution plan(s) to management if applicable.
+ Develop and implement strategies that meet and support the business objectives (i.e. commodity and supplier strategies, projects as applicable).
+ Resolve issues related to safety. quality, cost, delivery.
+ Manage and enhance supplier performance through standardized processes and continuous. improvement efforts impacting quality, cost, delivery and service, in support of multiple locations and/or functional areas.
+ Execute analytical evaluations of the supply base and identify optimization opportunities to consolidate spend/suppliers or source more efficiently to support the business and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a supply chain management or business/finance discipline.
+ 5+ years of relevant or related work experience in Procurement/Sourcing or other relevant areas (finance, supply chain).
+ Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
+ Demonstrated analytical skills.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, including being able to speak and facilitate effectively.
+ Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, etc. a plus.
+ Ability to interpret data into information and create intuitive reports.
+ Great organizational and follow-up skills.
+ Capable of working independently (Self-starter / self-motivated).
+ Decision-making within area of responsibility in a timely manner and drives results.
