We are searching for the best talent for a **Packaging Lab Technician** in **Cincinnati, OH** .
Packaging Lab Technicians coordinate daily operations in our Packaging Lab, supporting both routine and specialized testing of packaging materials and sterile barrier systems. You’ll work closely with Packaging Engineers and collaborate with teams across Product Development, Production, Distribution, Facilities, and Quality. You’ll also work with external partners such as test laboratories and shipping companies to ensure our packaging meets the highest standards.
You will lead test requests based on business priorities and help prioritize the lab’s workflow. Your role includes performing package qualification tests (such as integrity, seal strength, and shelf life studies), and detailing their results. You’ll contribute to developing and updating work instructions, validating equipment and test methods, and maintaining calibration schedules. Participation in global packaging initiatives and supporting product/package complaint investigations are also part of your responsibilities.
Duties / Responsibilities:
+ Manage test requests based on departmental demand and business priorities.
+ Provide general training of Test Methods and Lab procedures.
+ Perform package qualification testing to support package design and packaging process
+ qualification. Testing includes, but is not limited to Package Integrity, Seal Strength, Visual Inspection, feasibility studies, and Shelf-Life studies.
+ Organize and document data.
+ Execute and document validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) of laboratory test equipment and test methods.
+ Develop and oversee calibration and preventative maintenance schedules of packaging laboratory test equipment.
+ Issue PO’s to external companies for equipment calibrations or broken equipment.
+ Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level.
+ Operate handheld and bench top measurement instruments and data acquisition
+ programs.
+ Support the product/package complaint investigation process by analyzing, defining and
+ mapping defects as needed.
+ Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
+ For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
+ Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
+ Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications / Requirements:
+ Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent degree required.
+ Ability to Supervise other technicians or equivalent
+ Understanding of basic QSR and ISO quality requirements.
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Technical writing experience.
+ Capable of lifting of large boxes (test samples) and has sufficient dexterity to use precision measurement instruments.
+ Problem solving skills and ability to work independently
Additional Information:
+ The anticipated base pay range for this position is 59,000 to 85,100.
+ The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
+ This position is overtime eligible.
+ Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
+ Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
+ This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

+ Condolence Leave – 30 days for an immediate family member: 5 days for an extended family member
+ Caregiver Leave – 10 days
+ Volunteer Leave – 4 days
+ Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours
