Reports to: Manager, Manufacturing Engineering
Department: Engineering
Work Model: Full-time, On-site – No Travel Required
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm

Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for being a point of contact between the company and suppliers throughout the entire product lifecycle. They will be expected to fill the gap between the technical and non-technical group and facilitate corrective actions to improve the supply chain success of the company. This position will also assist in the development of mixed printed circuit boards PCBs, electrical wire harness design, and other multi-sourced mechanical components such as sheet metal/metal parts and assemblies.
Essential Functions
+ Identify sourcing opportunities in the US
+ Recommend more cost effective and/or reliable products that will improve company position to customers and help in the evaluation of these products
+ Support product development by sourcing new technologies from qualified vendors while leading the qualification process
+ Drive process improvements by identifying root causes and corrective actions utilizing quantitative analytical methods
+ Read and interpret drawings and industry specifications
+ Responsible for maintaining component libraries and component parameters
+ Utilize electrical design tools (e.g., Altium, PSpice) to perform engineering tasks, converting technical requirements into schematic diagrams, printed circuit board layouts, and assembly drawings
+ Read and interpret electrical drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
+ Assist the systems team in researching, designing, evaluating systems and/or processes to meet customer requirements, ensure designs are producible and error free
+ Investigate electrical equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions
+ Direct or coordinate electrical manufacturing and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
+ Experience working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
+ Product Life Management (PLM) systems such as end of life (EOL), multisource, etc.
+ Basic knowledge of electrical assemblies such as power, high-speed, digital, cable, and analog circuity designs
Skills:
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Effectively communicate with suppliers and customers both on the phone and in person
+ Multitasking skills including the ability to work across multiple software platforms
Abilities:
+ Read and compare technical data sheets
Required Qualification
+ Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person”)
+ Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; Electrical Engineering preferred or 10+ years of component experience in lieu of degree
Preferred Qualification
+ 1-5 years of experience working in a procurement department in an operations and manufacturing field
+ 1-5 years of PCB design
+ 1-5 years of component selection and schematic design
+ Experience in a field application engineering role (in the electrical assembly’s environment)
+ Knowledge of individual computer hardware components
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Consistent exposure to manufacturing floor and testing environments. May require lifting up to 25 lbs, standing for extended periods during product testing.
