Department Summary:
MITRE is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Sourcing, Lead to join our team of talent strategists who connect extraordinary talent to MITRE’s mission. This role will focus on proactive talent sourcing and pipeline development for highly specialized, technical, and leadership roles across MITRE.
You will serve as a strategic partner to recruiting colleagues and hiring managers, designing creative sourcing strategies, leveraging AI-driven tools, and building relationships with exceptional candidates who want to make a difference.
Roles & Responsibilities:
+ Partner closely with business leaders, Talent Advisors and Talent Management team to understand current and future hiring needs, shape sourcing strategies, and attract talent to meet organizational goals.
+ Design and execute sourcing strategies to identify and engage passive candidates across technical, scientific, and leadership disciplines.
+ Mentor and support the ongoing development of the Talent Advisor team and Sourcing Partners through knowledge transfer, collaborative trainings and sharing innovative sourcing techniques.
+ Utilize advanced sourcing techniques and platforms—including AI-enabled tools, Boolean search, and data mining to identify and qualify talent.
+ Build, maintain, and nurture diverse talent pipelines aligned to MITRE’s mission areas.
+ Engage candidates through thoughtful, personalized outreach that reflects MITRE’s values and commitment to public service.
+ Track and report sourcing metrics, providing data-driven insights to influence sourcing strategy and improve outcomes.
+ Collaborate with the broader Talent Acquisition team to continuously improve processes, tools, and the overall candidate experience.
+ Represent MITRE at networking events, professional associations, and virtual communities.
Basic Qualifications:
+ A minimum of 8 years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience with a bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Proven ability to design and execute sourcing strategies for complex, niche, or high-impact roles.
+ Proficiency with modern sourcing tools, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and candidate relationship management (CRM) platforms.
+ Advanced expertise in sourcing methodologies, including Boolean and X-ray search, AI-enabled sourcing, and market research techniques.
+ Proficiency with ATS and HCM systems; Workday and Phenom experience preferred.
+ Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to translate data and market insights into actionable recruiting strategies.
+ Demonstrated success building consultative partnerships with business leaders, recruiting colleagues and influencing hiring outcomes.
+ Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills; adept at navigating competing priorities.
+ Proven ability to mentor or guide peers on sourcing best practices and process improvements.
+ Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance recruiting speed, quality, and efficiency.
+ Creative and adaptive approach to sourcing beyond traditional channels.
+ Ability to travel occasionally; role may be remote or based in McLean, VA.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ 5+ years of experience in talent sourcing, recruitment, or executive research roles, preferably within technology, engineering, or mission-driven organizations.
+ 3+ years of experience sourcing or recruiting candidates in the cleared space.
+ 3+ years of experience supporting mid-to senior-level hiring.
+ Experience leveraging AI-enabled sourcing platforms and data-driven search methodologies.
+ Deep knowledge of technical, mission-critical, and cleared talent markets.
+ Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter, SeekOut, Phenom, Workday, and CRM platforms.
+ Experience recruiting within government contracting or non-profit organizations, with an understanding of clearance processes and government hiring practices.
