- The Walt Disney Company (Burbank, CA)

About the Role & Program:
Do you remember seeing ads for _Lilo and Stitch_ earlier last summer? What about _Tron: Ares_ or _Predator: Badlands_ in the Fall? If you did, it was likely because of the detailed planning and execution of the Disney Entertainment Media and Marketing team…and if you didn’t – it’s probably because our targeting is _that good_ .
We are looking for a **Software Engineering Intern** to join the Performance Marketing arm of this media team in **Summer 2026** . We are an integrated, cross-functional team of marketers, software engineers, data scientists, and analysts who help the Media team execute highly data-driven marketing campaigns for theatrical, streaming, and brand campaigns.
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute to our growing technology portfolio: innovative campaign planning tools, complex data science workflows, and elegant web applications that blend the art of advertising at Disney with the science of our data-backed insights.
This role is unique – our team is embedded **directly** within the Disney marketing organization. We're aligned and mission-driven, with the freedom to move fast and innovate to achieve our goals. You'll tackle the challenges of executing a precise paid media strategy, using the latest technologies and tools in the data/tech space. If you're excited about this, please get in touch – we'd love to hear from you!
What You Will Do:
+ Write code, fix bugs, and contribute to the development of a suite of tools used by the Performance Marketing group to execute on theatrical, streaming, and brand campaigns
+ Build and expand on backend services that automate and facilitate the execution of data-driven media campaigns on third party ad platforms
+ Collaborate with the broader team of media/marketing experts to rapidly iterate from prototypes to high-quality, production pipelines
+ Implement quality controls, monitoring, and other safeguards to ensure optimizations are accurately and safely applied to in-flight ad campaigns and key business metrics are always presented accurately
Required Qualifications & Skills:
+ Experience with building applications or services using Python, Java, or similar
+ Demonstrated ability to build any technical component in a larger system (e.g. microservice, API endpoint) as well as a deep understanding of the overall system architecture
+ Exceptional hands-on experience and strong core engineering skills — whether through internships, personal projects, or academic work
+ Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git, GitHub/GitLab) and standard software development lifecycle tools (e.g. CI/CD pipelines)
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
+ Experience with Spark or SQL
+ Understanding of cloud compute (AWS, GCM, etc) and modern dev ops practices; understanding of CI/CD automation
+ Knowledge of ad platforms including DMPs, Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram, Innovid, LiveRamp and DSPs (Google DV360, Trade Desk, Verizon Media Group)
Education:
+ Junior or Senior year preferred
+ Major or significant coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
+ Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
+ Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
+ Be at least 18 years of age
+ Possess unrestricted work authorization
