Job Overview

M Health Fairview is looking for a Cardiovascular RN at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This is a **0.9 FTE (72 hours per 2 weeks)** position on the **Day/Eve** shift, for 12 hour shifts, no weekends.

+ Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.

+ Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.

+ Utilizes nursing process by assessing, implementing and evaluating care given to assigned patients.

+ Communicates accurately and effectively with patient/family and healthcare members regarding plan of care, nursing interventions and patient information.

+ Coordinates care with physicians. Directs, coordinates and acts as a liaison for other health care personnel.

+ Manages and supervises other unit personnel as needed.

+ Assumes charge nurse responsibility as assigned.

+ RN Core Competencies - Assessment, Planning, Evaluation: Collects and analyses pertinent data and/or clinical findings. Incorporates clinical findings and scientific evidence in the development, coordination and implementation of an individualized plan of care to achieve desired outcomes. Evaluates progress towards goals and outcomes identifying opportunities for improvement and changes.

+ RN Core Competencies - Evidence Based Practice: Evaluates and/or assists in the evaluation of practice in relation to existing evidence identifying opportunities for the generation and use of research.

+ RN Core Competencies - Nursing Process: Utilizes the nursing process to provide holistic, compassionate, safe, high quality, population based care.

+ RN Core Competencies - Patient Safety: Demonstrates practices that support safety with recognition of variations in populations served, preventing harm to patients, families, employees, and themselves.

+ RN Core Competencies - Professional Practice: Demonstrates behavior consistent with the standards, scope of practice, ethics, and characteristics of a licensed professional.

+ Computer skills basic: Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc.).

+ Interpersonal Communication: Skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, co-workers, or families, actively listening to develop a positive connection.

Required Qualifications:

+ Associates Degree

+ MN RN License

+ ACLS & BLS certified

+ RN Cardiac Special Care experience or cross-trained

Preferred Qualifications:

+ BSN

+ ICU/Critical Care experience
