Description
**Description:** Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft to ensure airworthiness. Removes/installs canopies, and ejection seats, performs periodic maintenance of all cockpit egress and life support systems of moderate difficulty, such as seats, canopies, CADs, and heating/cooling systems, utilizing hand tools. Reads and interprets manufacturer's publications, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. inspects airframe components for cracks and other damage. Troubleshoot, remove, replace, and repair egress and life support system components. Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft systems. As directed by site operations and site management, be certified as a CDI. Shall be able to correctly prioritize workload to maintain schedules and maintenance standards on assigned projects.
Qualifications:
+ The candidate must have completed the Navy Class "C" school in egress and life support systems repair for the position-specific T/M/S aircraft billet or USMC/USCG equivalent.
+ Personnel must be graduates of approved O-Level training, AME School, manufacturer, or Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit for specific T/M/S egress systems.
+ Shall have completed and able to document the appropriate T/M Navy Egress Class "C" school.
+ Shall have minimum three years T/M aircraft maintenance experience for the specific T/M aircraft hired to maintain.
+ Shall have two years T/M experience within the last three years.
+ May be required to become Plane Captain certified by approved certification process for each T/M/S applicable to their background.
+ The candidate shall be experienced in the maintenance of aircraft ejection seats, aircraft air conditioning systems, canopy systems, canopy jettison/fracturing systems, fire warning/extinguishing systems, Onboard Oxygen Generating Systems repair/troubleshooting, aircraft environmental systems maintenance, and aircraft pressurization systems troubleshoot oxygen systems, repair and test oxygen regulators and Liquid Oxygen (LOX) converters removed from the aircraft.
+ Shall have a valid driver's license.
**Duties:** The candidate for this task is required to maintain and service the applicable egress and environmental systems/components as required in support of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 31 RDT&E Programs by applicable publications and governing instructions.
Hourly $51.06 USD
