    Job Description

    The Senior Commercial Loan Underwriter is a key contributor to the credit and underwriting function within a local banking institution. This role is responsible for evaluating complex commercial loan requests, conducting thorough financial analysis and risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with bank lending policies. This position will be customer facing, traveling to meet with clients throughout the continental United States. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial credit underwriting, demonstrate sound judgment in credit decision-making, and contribute to the strategic management of the loan portfolio.

     

    This position requires a high level of independence, technical proficiency, and leadership capability. The Senior Underwriter will collaborate with internal stakeholders across Sales, Servicing, and Executive Management, and may also serve as a mentor or supervisor to junior underwriting staff.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields.

     

    - 7-10+ years of commercial lending and underwriting experience.

     

    - Experience with underwriting commercial relationships worth $5M or more.

     

    - Willingness to Travel to client locations throughout the continental United States at least two days a week. - Master's Degree in Business.

     

    - Experience with speciality lending lines.
