    Job Description

    Our client Labelbox, builds essential infrastructure powering breakthrough AI models for research labs and enterprises. Since 2018, they’ve pioneered data-centric AI development, and their solutions include enterprise platforms, frontier data labeling services, and expert marketplaces. This candidates will be leading and supporting a team of 8 with intentions to grow.

     

    Strategic & Operational Leadership:** Own the vision and strategy for the Robotics Lab, building and leading a high-performance team of engineers, operators, and technicians.

     

    Build & Scale Data Factory:** Architect and implement a 24/7 operational framework for data generation, including developing processes, KPIs, automation, and quality control systems to ensure maximum uptime and data integrity.

     

    Customer Collaboration:** Act as the primary technical partner for robotics clients, translating their requirements into production targets, and ensuring delivery exceeds expectations.

     

    Technical Roadmap Development:** Drive the hardware and software development plans, including robotics hardware, sensors, data pipelines, and quality tools, integrating seamlessly into the Labelbox platform.

     

    Scaling Operations:** Expand physical facilities, procure hardware, automate workflows, and plan workforce growth to meet increasing customer demand.

     

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and customer teams to ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement of the robotics data generation process.

     

    Monitoring & Optimization:** Establish KPIs, monitoring systems, and automation to maintain high efficiency, uptime, and data quality.

     

    Innovation & Improvement:** Continuously evaluate new technologies, methodologies, and processes to improve the robotics data pipeline and operational effectiveness.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    8+ years of experience in a technical field

     

    5+ years in senior leadership managing engineering, product, or operational teams.

     

    Proven track record of scaling complex, 24/7 operations involving hardware, software, and human processes (e.g., manufacturing, data centers, R&D labs).

     

    Deep expertise in robotics, including sensor modalities (LiDAR, stereo cameras, IMUs) and robotics software stacks (e.g., ROS).

     

    Ability to own and drive a technical and product roadmap, balancing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Exceptional customer-facing skills; experience acting as a trusted technical advisor.

     

    Strong strategic thinker, capable of troubleshooting hardware, planning long-term initiatives, and presenting to executive teams.

     

    BS or MS in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field. Experience building or managing data collection/generation systems for machine learning.

     

    Background in specific robotics verticals such as autonomous vehicles, logistics automation, or manufacturing.

     

    Familiarity with the machine learning data lifecycle, including annotation, data quality, and model evaluation.

     

    Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in high-capacity, operational environments.
