Job Description
A client in the financial services industry is seeking a JavaScript/Node Engineer to join its Enterprise Architecture organization and work within their JavaScript Functions team, which is the cloud-based serverless compute platform written in JavaScript. The platform is similar to AWS Lambda, so experience there is preferred. This Engineer should be an advanced, senior-level Engineer who is extremely strong with hands-on coding. They will work on maintaining the platform while also building new features. They are also responsible for supporting existing users who are running their code on the platform, so should be familiar with observability and monitoring as well as support. The ideal candidate should be communicative, proactive and have a passion for new ideas and features as this is a collaborative team.
Compensation:
$60-73/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Skills and Requirements
• Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Fastify or Express.
• Proven ability in designing, developing, and maintaining microservices architectures.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines specifically using GitHub Actions and Workflows.
• Solid experience with serverless architectures and cloud platforms like AWS Lambda, Azure Functions.
• In-depth understanding of REST API design principles and best practices.
• Strong grasp of backend security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Knowledge of observability, telemetry, and performance monitoring tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience in building and scaling platform-level systems — including API gateways, rate limiting, and service orchestration. • Understanding of AI platform concepts like Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience working in environments focused on developer productivity and internal platform development.
