Job Description
We are looking for an Audiologist in Savannah, GA for our client. They are a specialized ENT practice with pediatric and adult patients. They provide diagnostics including: sleep studies, balance testing, hearing evaluations, ruptured eardrum treatment, and allergy testing.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Audiometric Evaluations
• Discusses hearing complaints with patient and family
• Takes a complete patient history, based on ability of patient/family
• Conducts audiological evaluations, including impedance measures, air/bone conduction testing, speech reduction thresholds, pure tone thresholds, and word discrimination testing
• Determines speech discrimination scores, performed at suprathreshold levels to determine rollover effect
• Adjusts test procedures/protocols based on patient age and test ability
• Performs otoacoustic emissions testing, as deemed necessary by complaint/history/age/ability of patient
• Prepares complete audiology reports for referring physicians
• Hearing Aid Counseling
• Discusses hearing test results and needs for amplification with patient/family
• Explains benefits of personal amplification
• Discusses various hearing aid options and recommends best option for patient
• Makes ear mold impression(s) when patient decides on amplification
• Orders appropriate hearing aid(s)/ear molds(s)
• Maintains chart notes and paperwork subsequent to each visit
• Hearing Aid Fitting/Orientation
• Takes earmold impression(s) and checks fit of ear mold(s)
• Programs/adjusts trim pots as needed to find tune hearing aid(s) to patient satisfaction and appropriate response
• Instructs patient/family on care of hearing aid(s)/batteries
• Issues instruction material and battery warnings
• Instructs patients or patient’s family on use of hearing aid(s); counsels patient/family on benefits of amplification and how to improve the patient's listening environment
• Verifies completion of orientation with checklist
• Discusses contract and obtains acceptance signature and ordering deposit
• Schedules follow-up appointments
• Hearing Aid Checks
• New Hearing Aid Checks
• Makes aid adjustments as needed to Hearing Aid response
• Re-instructs patient on care or use of aid as required
• Established Hearing Aid Checks
• Assesses patient’s complaints regarding the existing device or quality
• Cleans hearing aid as required
• Analyzes hearing aid problems perceived by patient
• Repairs aid or returns to manufacturer for repair
• Outlines estimated repair costs to family/patient
• Maintenance of Audiometric Equipment/Supplies
• Cleans all equipment as needed
• Reports any problems/need for calibration/repair to supervising audiologist
• Maintains audiological education literature
• Maintains audiology supply inventory
• Reports list of needed supplies; orders supplies upon Manager's approval
• Other
• Meets with physicians regularly to discuss patient care issues
• Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
• Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions
• Attends team and staff meetings

Skills and Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree required
• Ability to pass the Praxis Exam in Audiology
• Audiology License to practice in Georgia or able to obtain Audiology License in Georgia before starting
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Ability to work with patients and make them feel comfortable
• Ability to conduct tests accurately and efficiently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and cheerful attitude
• Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
