    JOB DESCRIPTION

    MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering graduating later than August 2026. Gas Integrity Management interns will be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the energy industry. Interns will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills learned through college and apply them to the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, and full-time/hourly through the summer.

    Interns will have the opportunity to participate in the annual three-day summer intern event in Des Moines, Iowa where they will have the opportunity to tour state-of-the-art facilities, network with leadership, and gain a broader understanding of MidAmerican Energy Company. Other panels, lunch and learns, and events will be happening throughout the summer to give our interns the best experience

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

    + Performing data analysis utilizing geospatial and related software applications and determining and implementing optimal solutions.

    + Work will encourage leading or participating in teams and collaborating with other Company interns and full-time employees as well as reporting information to and interacting with various levels of staff and management.

    + Assisting and collaborating with engineers and analysts to complete technical tasks associated with the Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP) for Company’s natural gas transmission assets as well as for the Gas Steel System Modernization (GSSM) project which is critical to verifying proper operation of cathodic protection zones associated with underground steel gas pipelines across the system.

    + Assisting with other engineering projects within the Compliance and Integrity Management team as assigned.

    + Utilize human performance improvement tools to ensure quality of work product, including but not limited to peer and post-job reviews.

    + Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

    + Strengthen and broaden industry experience and abilities by taking initiative for professional development and training.

    + Perform responsibilities as directed within determined time frames with a high degree of accuracy.

    + Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department and the company.

    + Maintain professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary to effectively complete responsibilities.

    + Maintain sensitive and confidential information regarding company information.

    + Support the company’s employee policies and procedures, including workplace safety rules.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Skills for Success

    + Utilize software to extract information from various sources and formats, conduct analyses and collaborate with a diverse workforce to achieve goals.

    + Ability to read and interpret engineering data.

    + Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    Qualifications

    + Must be a college student actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering.

    + Must be able to work May-August 2026.

    + Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
