Our Wastewater Infrastructure Planning team is hiring an **Engineer I** to support planning projects for our wastewater collection and treatment system (the second largest system in Colorado!) With dozensof lift stations and thousands of miles of pipeline, our system and infrastructure provide variety in the work that you'll do. You'll have the opportunity to be involved with highly visible projects that impact the current and future performance, reliability, growth, and safety of our wastewater infrastructure. Some of these near-term projects may include:
+ **Wastewater Collection System Model** - You will perform computer modeling of hydraulic infrastructure including sanitary sewer collection systems; assess and identify collection system performance deficiencies; predict future system constraints; develop solutions for planning and design projects; and create, update, calibrate, and verify hydraulic models using OpenFlows Sewer and ArcGIS Pro.
+ **Flow Monitoring Program Support** - You will be in the field to install, update, and evaluate data from our in-system flow monitoring equipment, as well as collect and incorporate this data into the wastewater model.
+ **Wastewater Capacity Analysis** - You will use the wastewater collection system model to evaluate system capacities and determine wastewater infrastructure requirements for annexations and development in Colorado Springs.
+ **Wastewater System Plan** - You will assist with updating our 20-year capital improvement plan and perform technical writing to justify why projects are needed.
+ **Lift Station Facility Plan** - You will evaluate the condition of lift stations and determine projects needed to improve operational reliability - and evaluate wastewater flow projections to determine when capacity upgrades are needed.
+ **Studies and Alternatives Analyses** - You will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to formulate multiple project alternatives for solving problems - and develop criteria to compare alternatives and determine best value solutions.
