The Caterpillar Energy & Transportation Segment (E&T) has a broad portfolio of products and services which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. We deliver these products and services to Cat machine, oil & gas, power generation, transportation and industrial customers.

Job Summary:

Caterpillar’s Energy & Transportation Purchasing department has an exciting opportunity for a Global Category Procurement Manager in Mossville, IL. In this role, you will provide leadership to strategic categories to electric drive component and system procurement strategies. Deliver year over year Quality Cost Logistics Development Management (QCLDM) performance improvements. Create value through an improved global supply network. Serve as the industry expert for a particular category. Deliver Global Leverage and supply network market knowledge to product supply organizations for incorporation into future designs & supply design collaboration events.

What You Will Do:

+ This role is accountable for the development, communication and implementation of a worldwide sourcing strategy for an electric drivetrain components and systems.

+ Manage and develop supplier performance, relationships, and agreements/contracts for their category; while collaborating with engineering, facilities and product supply managers to create a competitive advantage for our customers and the enterprise by developing, optimizing, and integrating a world-class supply network.

+ Manage a high performing team of supplier development engineers and procurement professionals who will identify, develop and manage a high performing global supply network

+ Through a strong knowledge of the category the incumbent will set and sustain the procurement strategy for electric drive solutions and components.

+ Lead cost management initiatives by identifying and executing cost reduction opportunities across the electric drivetrain supply base, ensuring alignment with enterprise financial goals and long-term value creation.

What you will have:

+ **Negotiating:** Extensive experience and knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

+ **Category Management:** Extensive experience and knowledge of category management within an organization's goods and services sector; ability to use this knowledge to analyze and improve the end-to-end procurement process and maximize business profitability.

+ **Supplier Management - MFG:** Extensive experience and knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.

+ **Strategic Sourcing:** Extensive experience and knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.

What Will Set You Apart:

+ Demonstrated expertise in global sourcing strategies, specifically within the electric motor and power electronics industry.

+ Proven success in developing and executing category and supplier strategies aligned with enterprise goals.

+ Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract negotiation and management of complex supplier agreements.

+ Effective leadership capabilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

+ Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

+ Extensive experience in managing strategic supplier relationships and driving long-term value.

+ Collaborative approach to working with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize supply chain performance.

Degree Requirement:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Additional Information:

+ This position is located Mossville, IL and requires 5 day a week in-office availability.

+ Domestic and international travel typically between 25-50%.

+ Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$144,960.00 - $217,320.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
