    Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, a free-standing children’s hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a 5th Pediatric Neurosurgeon to join a well-established and growing Pediatric Neurosurgery Team. We provide general and specialized care for the full range of pediatric vascular disorders and neurosurgical disorders, including epilepsy, spasticity, movement disorders, craniofacial anomalies, brain tumors, spina bifida, and hydrocephalus. This position provides an opportunity for 75% Peds/25% adults with Pediatric or Congenital problems .

     

    The new provider will be joining a team of 4 pediatric neurosurgeons, 7.5 APPs, 3 RNs, and 2 MAs . Call is equally shared and would be 1 in 5 with primary coverage by our APP team 24/7 including weekends and holidays. Clinical outreach services are provided in Traverse City (2.5 hours), Lansing (1 hour) and Kalamazoo (1 hour). The group provides subspecialty training in pediatric neurosurgery for the Corewell Health Neurological Surgery Residency Program. Dedicated subspecialty interests, and a desire to include an academic focus (bench research, translational, or clinical) are welcomed but not required. Surgeons at all career stages are encouraged to apply, including graduating fellows.

    Practice Highlights:

    + 24/7 primary call support and inpatient coverage from our APP group

    + Level I trauma center with 234 beds including support from the full range of pediatric specialists including Neurointensivists and Pediatric Trauma Surgery

    + Protected administrative time; protected research time

    + Collaborative relationship with pediatric plastic surgery, urology, orthopedics, neurology, ENT

    + Specialty equipment (in addition to standard surgical equipment): ROSA robot, Intraoperative MRI, Clearpoint, Stealth Neuronavigation, MEG

    + Internal and external institutional support for all research interests along with a strong philanthropic community

    + Affiliation with Michigan State University and opportunity to apply for academic position commensurate with current academic title, training, education, experience and publications.

    Qualifications

    + LIC-MD or DO License - State of Michigan

    + CRT-DEA Registration - State of Michigan

    + Completed an accredited fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery and be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Pediatric Neurosurgery (ABNS) and the American Board of Pediatric Neurosurgery (ABPNS).

    + CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
