The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in Grand Rapids, MN, is seeking a dynamic individual to join the team as a General Maintenance Worker. This position is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of the Grand Rapids Regional Headquarters Complex so that the buildings and grounds are maintained in a safe, clean and presentable manner. Key Responsibilities include: + Cleaning of headquarters buildings including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning restrooms, and emptying trash. + Upkeep of the grounds including mowing, trimming, weeding and removing snow. + Routine maintenance and repair activities on headquarter buildings. Minimum Qualifications *This position requires the incumbent to obtain a Special Engineer Boiler license within 60 days from the day of hire.* Only applicants whose application/resume clearly demonstrates each of the following minimum qualifications will be considered for this position. + Knowledge of general care and cleaning buildings sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials and equipment. + Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents sufficient to select the appropriate agent(s), safely handle and apply and dispose of safely. + Experience operating a lawn mower, snow blower, and small power tools sufficient to perform buildings and grounds work. + Experience in methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to operate safely and make minor repairs. + Ability to keep records and perform math calculations sufficient to order supplies and complete inventories. + Customer service skills sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Preferred Qualifications + Current possession of a valid Minnesota boiler license. Additional Requirements This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver's license with a clear driving record; per DNR Fleet Policy, only those 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license may operate equipment and vehicles on behalf of the Agency.
