    The Maintenance Supervisor for Core Electrical has direct responsibility for providing timely, complete and cost-effective electrical technician service for the entire Elmore Plant. This responsibility will be directed to assure effective use of resources to maintain reliable operation of production and production support equipment and to provide technical expertise associated with modification of existing equipment and selection of new equipment.

    You will have the opportunity to:

    + Ensure that all Maintenance equipment is maintained in safe operating condition and that all Maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with established safety and environmental practices and procedures.

    + Develop formal safety procedures for performance of specific Maintenance activities utilizing formats in accordance with Materion BMP programs and practices.

    + Work with the Manager of Maintenance Services to establish realistic plans and goals for the Maintenance operation and personal plans and goals for self-improvement using the Success Factor program.

    + Direct Maintenance activities to obtain maximum utilization of personnel and equipment.

    + Provide training of department personnel in proper methods, procedures and safety practices to assure effectiveness of performance of their work assignments.

    + Provide timely and cost-effective service to production and other operations keeping supervisory personnel apprised of the status of work requested.

    + Monitor and evaluate work performed by department personnel to assure high levels of quality and workmanship of service provided.

    + Effectively control Maintenance costs through efficient utilization of manpower and materials and maintain high levels of productivity.

    + Develop and maintain good communication and cooperation systems with Managers, Supervisors and various salaried personnel to ensure optimum achievement of business objectives.

    + Established and maintain sound and effective employee relations, providing leadership, communication, guidance and training as necessary to achieve the cooperation and flexibility necessary to support business needs.

    + Participate in preparation of annual capital and operating budgets for the Maintenance organization.

    + Prepare estimates and develop justifications for preparation of capital expenditure requests and participate as necessary in attaining timely completion of the associated project.

    + Develop, plan, institute and maintain surveillance of an effective preventive maintenance program to assure a minimum of unscheduled equipment downtime for repair work.

    + Utilize SAP for identification and evaluation of repetitive breakdown occurrences and submit recommendations for permanent corrective action.

    + Evaluate needs for supply or repair parts for production and production support equipment and establish necessary inventory levels to minimize downtime of equipment.

    + Establish priorities and schedule assignment of work to assure effective response to business needs and cost-effective utilization of Maintenance personnel.

    + Maintain appropriate levels of housekeeping and 5S in work areas to provide physically and environmentally safe working conditions for all plant personnel.

    + Reduce maintenance operation costs with documentation of results based on identified goals and objectives.

    + Reduce downtime of production facilities through use of planned activities with supportive documentation and measurements.

    + Maintain a safe working environment with reductions in both accident frequency and severity.

    + Ensure that all related activities are conducted to comply with established practices, policies, procedures and company equal opportunity criteria.

    REQUIREMENTS: ​

    + Individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.

    + Must have a strong electrical background.

    + A degree in electrical technology is preferred.

    + Previous supervisory / leadership experience preferred.

    + A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Electrical field in heavy industry is desired.

    + The ability to work independently and in teams is also essential.

     

    The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

     

    The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on Materion’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion’s business requirements.
