Job Summary:

Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in (Avondale, AZ).

+ Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

+ Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

+ Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

+ Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

+ Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

+ Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

+ Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics

+ Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality

+ Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.

+ Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.

+ Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.

+ Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software

QUALIFICATIONS

1. The regular schedule for this position will be 6:00am to 6:00Pm Mon-Fri. This schedule is subject to change based on business needs.

2. This position requires a technical/trade school degree from an accredited program or equivalent work experience.

3. The level for this position will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and skill set. Qualifications for different technician levels:

4. _Technician Level I:_ Limited relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on a minimal number of products in-scope for technician at this location; primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics; requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

5. _Technician Level II:_ Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.

6. _Technician Level III_ : Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products in-scope for technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets.

- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Minimal level of work shop experience required

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
