Lead Cloud Engineer
The Lead Cloud Engineer provides strategic technical leadership for enterprise cloud initiatives, setting architectural direction and ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role defines and enforces cloud standards, leads large-scale migrations and modernization programs, and partners with security, networking, and application teams to deliver integrated solutions. The Cloud Engineer Lead drives adoption of automation and DevOps practices across teams, mentors senior engineers, and serves as a trusted advisor to technology leadership. This position requires balancing hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to ensure enterprise-wide consistency and innovation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
+ Defines and enforces enterprise cloud architecture standards and best practices.
+ Leads large-scale cloud initiatives, migrations, and modernization programs.
+ Partners with security, networking, and application teams to ensure integrated solutions.
+ Drives adoption of automation, DevOps, and governance frameworks across teams.
+ Serves as a technical advisor to leadership and mentor senior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
+ 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering.
+ 3+ years of hands-on Azure experience in enterprise environments.
+ Strong knowledge of Azure networking, identity, storage, and compute.
+ Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Defender for Cloud.
+ Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
+ Familiarity with hybrid cloud and on-prem integration scenarios.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Azure certifications - one or more of the following:
+ AZ-104: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
+ AZ-305: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
+ AZ-400: Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
+ Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
