             Wellness Coordinator Buffalo, NY (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2495+Main+Street+,+Suite+417+Buffalo+NY+USA+14214) Apply Description This position is responsible for coordinating and integrating wellness activities and resources throughout the agency’s programs and overall culture. Focus will be on promoting SAMHSA's Eight Dimensions of Wellness and are to include resident as well as staff activities. The Wellness Coordinator will work collaboratively to integrate these dimensions—emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual—into initiatives that support overall well-being and address substance use disorders. The role emphasizes a holistic approach to wellness, encouraging recovery, resilience, and the reduction of stigma associated with substance use and mental health challenges. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Plans wellness- activities throughout each of the agency’s programs. • Regularly visits each program to assess the progress of wellness activities and engages in activities with residents and staff. • Develops evidence-based wellness curricula for programs to incorporate into their group sessions and other activities. • Regularly facilitates Wellness groups and completes case notes on a regular and timely basis, ensuring compliance with identified case note standards. • Integrates wellness program initiatives into the agency’s culture and organizational mission. Ensures all safety measures necessary are in place for activities and completes required documents for activity approvals. • Collaborates with vocational, clinical, medical, culinary, and administrative staff to create environments that promote wellness. • Systematically and accurately tracks attendance, participation, and performance data related to wellness activities. • Maintains wellness schedules, records, and reports. • Selects and supervises wellness contractors and approves related invoices • Facilitates budgeting, purchasing, and operational planning for wellness initiatives. Recommends and approves new program or service offerings to promote wellness. • Conducts or facilitates training sessions or seminars on wellness activities. • Evaluates the success of the wellness activities by determining relevant satisfaction levels. • Researches potential sources of funding for wellness activities and equipment. • Serves on agency committees as requested. • Carries out additional duties essential to the above-stated responsibilities as assigned. • Is mindful of and integrates Trauma-Informed Care and its five principles in all duties and interactions with fellow staff, residents, and external partners. • Maintains compliance with all required rules and regulations including Federal Confidentiality (42 CFR, Part 2), HIPAA, Medicaid and/or HUD, and any others. • Regular attendance at work location. • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Other duties may be assigned. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Exercise or Nutritional Science, Health Education or Promotion, or another relevant field required; and • A certification in personal training, nutrition, wellness, or another relevant focus preferred; and • At least two years working directly with individuals with alcohol/substance abuse disorders and/or individuals from other disadvantaged populations. • In addition to the qualifications above, a valid New York State driver’s license and reliable automobile is required.
