About the role
As a CBRE Facilities Manager, you will lead a team responsible for providing coordinating building operations and maintenance for a Research & Development Manufacturing campus in Milpitas, California.
What you’ll do
Facility Operations & Maintenance
+ Lead all aspects of daily operations of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
+ Conduct routine inspections and ensure preventive maintenance is performed as required.
+ Lead emergency repairs and service requests.
Vendor & Contract Management
+ Lead contracts with external service providers (e.g., janitorial, landscaping).
+ Monitor vendor performance and ensure service level compliance.
+ Partner with procurement team and support procurement initiatives.
Health, Safety & Compliance
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
+ Adhere to client safety, compliance and regulatory standards, as well as local SOPs.
+ Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
+ Maintain emergency preparedness plans and coordinate drills.
Budgeting & Financial Oversight
+ Develop and lead budgets for maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
+ Track expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Strategic Projects & Capital Improvements
+ Support the implementation of facility upgrades and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
+ Ensure assets are kept up to date with the CMMS and asset risk and compliance (ARC) program.
+ Collaborate with leadership on long-term planning and case development.
Team Leadership & Customer Engagement
+ Supervise maintenance staff.
+ Hire, train, and evaluate team members.
+ Engage with internal collaborators to ensure facility needs are met.
Reporting & Documentation
+ Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and compliance activities.
+ Ensure facility performance and vendor metrics achieve established targets.
Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship
+ Promote energy efficiency and implement eco-friendly upgrades.
+ Run recycling and waste disposal programs.
What you’ll need
+ Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
+ 5+ years of experience managing office and manufacturing facilities.
+ Strong knowledge of building systems and regulatory compliance.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills (this is not a project management role).
+ Proficiency in facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The compensation range is about $135,000 annual base salary plus 10% target bonus with some flexibility based on experience. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
