Position Description:
The Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development, in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University, seeks to hire two Assistant/Associate Professors, Tenure-Track/Tenure Review Upon Hire Positions in the undergraduate Learning Technologies and Performance Systems (LTPS) with a 9-month academic appointment beginning Fall 2026, within Educational Human Resource Development. We are especially interested in qualified candidates with experience in the academic community through their teaching, research, and service who have a vision for the field and the role of emerging technologies.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
+ Have a workload distribution of (40%) teaching, (40%) research, and (20%) service.
+ Teach undergraduate-level courses [core courses or newly designed courses (two per semester)] in the LTPS program per semester; develop, implement, and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology, and other tools; deliver instruction both online and on any of the university campuses. + Develop undergraduate courses in their area of Learning Technologies and Performance Systems.
+ Advise undergraduate students in the LTPS undergraduate program.
+ Serve on undergraduate committees and service to the department, university, and the profession.
+ Contribute to the development of the profession through participation in national and/or international associations, publications, and/or other related activities.
+ Conduct applied or translational research that is in line with the LTPS programming effort.
+ Publish creative and scholarly work in refereed journals appropriate to the faculty member's subject area, and present research findings at relevant industry meetings, events, professional meetings, or conferences, based on your research interests and focus.
+ Support academic pursuits in the subject matter area through guest lectures, undergraduate student mentorship, and student research activities.
+ Engage with external groups including state and federal government agencies, stakeholder organizations, industry, and other entities to better understand issues and potential partners in addressing stakeholder needs in the field.
+ Seek grants, contacts, and other revenue sources to advance and sustain programmatic efforts in the subject area.
+ Be a member of and engagement in professional organizations and societies.
+ Demonstrate collegiality by serving on departmental/unit committees and demonstrating a track record of building effective working relationships across departments, agencies, and/or colleges. Service includes maintaining appropriate schedules for student access and inquiry; working in partnership with academic advisors on student advising, attending scheduled orientation, chairing dissertations to completion and participating in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment and mentoring of new and part-time faculty.
Although this position is focused on undergraduate education, opportunities may arise to teach or advise graduate students in the department's related programs, depending on the candidate's expertise and departmental needs.
Appointment:
This is a full-time, nine-month appointment with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates must demonstrate:
+ Teaching excellence through various instructional formats (in-person, online, and/or hybrid instruction)
+ Discipline, expertise, and teaching excellence through evaluation by peers, department head, and/or college dean.
+ Yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching, research, and service.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals.
+ Experience in area of specialization, ability to write grant proposals to secure external funding; evidence of publishing in peer-reviewed journals; and participation in professional societies
Required Qualifications
+ Applicants for this position must have an earned doctorate in a field closely aligned with learning technologies and performance systems, such as Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, Human Resource Development, Instructional Design, Information Systems (with an education or workforce development focus), Technology Management, or Computational Social Science. Candidates who have completed all Ph.D. requirements except the dissertation (ABD) will be considered, provided they demonstrate clear progress toward completion.
+ Must show evidence of the potential for developing an outstanding program and indications of strong mentorship and teaching skills are required.
+ Must show evidence of publication in top-tier academic journals in areas aligned with learning technologies, instructional innovation, or performance improvement within educational, human development, or organizational contexts-consistent with expectations for a tenure-track or tenured faculty member at a research-extensive university.
+ Must provide evidence of demonstrated ability to acquire extramural funding.
+ Must have a minimum of two years of experience in teaching and teaching-related activities, both face-to face and online, at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in areas such as Information Systems, Instructional Technology, Learning Sciences, Computational Social Science, or Technology Management is required. Teaching experience may include at least one year as a graduate teaching assistant or instructor of record. Teaching-related activities may include designing or revising courses or modules, evaluating courses for compliance, developing instructional materials and learning activities, and integrating AI tools to enhance learning and student engagement.
+ Must provide evidence of ability to advise undergraduate students.
+ Must provide evidence of clear and innovative research agenda in leveraging artificial intelligence and/or data analytics that will strengthen and advance the LTPS program (nationally and internationally).
