What We Want
The College of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts is seeking an Academic Advisor II and an Academic Advisor III to join our growing team. The Academic Advisor independently drives engagement and empowers students in the Visualization undergraduate program to achieve their academic and career goals. This position will play a vital role in maximizing undergraduate student retention by building relationships with students and clarifying procedures and academic requirements for specific programs or majors.
What You Need to Know
Salary: Academic Advisor II starting at $49,500Academic Advisor III starting at $54,450
Other Requirements and Factors:
+ Works to cover shifts, or take emergency call, on evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
+ Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for an Academic Advisor II: Bachelor’s degree and two years of advising or related experience.
Minimum qualifications for an Academic Advisor III: Bachelor’s degree and four years of advising experience.

+ Legal guidelines of advising practice, including privacy regulations and confidentiality
+ Expected student learning and success outcomes of academic advising
+ The characteristics, needs, and experiences of major and emerging student populations
+ Resources and effective, appropriate responses to address mental health issues that may affect the well-being of students
+ Professional standards and ethical guidelines for coaching, coaching models, and methods and techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of coaching
+ Training methods and techniques for planning, designing, developing and delivering instructional content that is engaging, effective, relevant, and applicable to achieve desired learning outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 2 - 3 yrs of Project Management Experience
