The R&D Engineer will conduct Research and engage in New Product Development (NPD) of advanced filtration projects. You are expected to drive innovation, cross functionally, to deliver differentiated product performance with custom solutions, engage with Microelectronic Business Unit to ensure technical and strategy alignment. Role is a part of our growing central R&D team (Filtration Technology and Device Design) to develop next generation separation and purification solutions (innovation-embedded liquid and gas purifications).
This position reports to the R&D Manager and is part of the Global R&D organization located in Cortland, NY and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Apply technical background (from Chemical/Mechanical/Materials Engineering), especially related to micro/macro fluid-flow, strength of materials and structural-mechanical design for design of liquid and gas filtration technologies where you will design, analyze and engineer new products (with differentiated performance improvements) with the use of standard tools, state-of-the-art engineering software, design calculations, and best-known methods for product designs.
+ Contribute to the entire value chain of filtration technology design with core focus on design, modeling, prototyping, testing and analysis.
+ Strive to be a subject matter expert (SME) in design model prototype testing analysis for targeted application; and mentor fresh grads/new talent to adopt the invention (of your subject matter expertise).
+ Establish design, modelling and analysis techniques that serve as a foundation for the rest of the organization to implement across all projects while utilizing application knowledge from Semiconductor industry in filter product development.
+ Utilizes D-FMEA and P-FMEA for new product development.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Minimum master’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, or other Engineering discipline Engineering and Material Science (PhD preferred).
+ Minimum of 3+ years of experience in R&D/product development and/or design engineering
+ Technical background related to filtration technology for liquid/gas separation and purification
+ Technical skills in macro- and micro-fluid flow, structural mechanics, design to engineering, finite element methods, and/or process modelling is desirable
+ Knowledge of advanced semiconductor wafer fabrication processes related to photolithography and/or wet etch is highly preferred.

The annual salary range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
