Projects and efforts will focus on the safety of all road users, with an emphasis on vulnerable road users. Duties and Responsibilities Specific duties include but are not limited to: + Assure compliance of program area activities with MSU and WTI policies and procedures. + Assure quality control of proposals and realism of proposal schedules and budgets. + Review deliverable products including reports. + Develop proposals and secure base funding for new research initiatives and opportunities. + Serve as a representative of WTI within the mobility and public transportation community. + Pursue and coordinate opportunities for additional research grants and contracts to expand the scope and reach of WTI . + Facilitate coordinated outreach and technology transfer to the university and mobility and public transportation community. + Support WTI research tasks and projects related to mobility and public transportation. + Participate in strategic planning or other internal initiatives to benefit WTI & MSU . Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills + Master’s degree in engineering, health, business, or a field related to transportation. + At least three years of experience working in the transportation industry. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills + Experience in safe routes to school programs and projects, including creating and evaluating non-infrastructure programs/projects. + Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating pop-up traffic calming projects. + Knowledge of USDOT’s Safe Streets and Roads for All program and the Safe Systems Approach. + Five years or more of experience working in the transportation industry. Knowledge of MSU’s and WTI’s policies and procedures. The Successful Candidate Will Position Special Requirements/Additional Information Some travel may be required.
