    **Team:** SWAT Team- Actuarial Department

    **Location:** Golden Valley, MN

    **Work Model:** Hybrid (4-5days/wk on-site)

    **Pay Range:** $60/hr W2

     

    What’s the Job?

     

    We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives for our Corporate Actuarial department. They will be accountable for timely and accurate deliverables, frequent status reporting at all levels, and driving strategic outcomes.

     

    The ideal candidate brings a consulting-style mindset, thrives in ambiguity, drives alignment, and has a bias for action. Candidates should have proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead projects without direct authority.

     

    This role will support strategic projects across the Corporate Actuarial department with projects that range from large novel initiatives to support growth to more traditional projects. The role requires strong communication, creativity, problem solving, strong people skills, and detail orientation.

     

    Additional desired traits include: self-starter, problem solver, self-motivated, and ability and desire to learn new topics /areas on a regular basis. Should enjoy working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Financial services, insurance, or financial consulting experience are desired, but not required.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Deliver projects on time, which meet strategic and business requirements.

    • Create and maintain the Project Management Plan (PMP) and detailed project schedule;

    o Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and tasks.

    o Understand the value and benefits of why the project is needed.

    o Formulate and define the problem, scope, impacts and objectives of project. Perform project schedule analysis to identify critical path and resource issues.

    o Prepare high level estimates (time, resources) as needed, confirming with others who have experience in the affected areas.

    o Identify skills needed and work with functional managers to assure complete and appropriate resourcing.

    o Ensure project scope delivers benefits expected.

    • Create a comprehensive communication plan that includes both internal and external project communication documents, meetings, and reporting requirements including maintenance of the project data in the Project Portfolio database.

    • Manage the project(s) from initiation through delivery, warranty, if applicable, and closure:

    o Collect and report on plan-to-actual progress to the project schedule, at individual project task and overall project levels

    o Manage project documentation within the project notebook, or comparable documentation structure, including status reports, meeting minutes, risks, issues, decisions, action items, and other communications

    o Conduct project kick-off and ongoing meetings; capture decisions, issues, and action items

    o Assign and monitor project team member work; provide support and direction

    o Manage the project budget, if applicable

    o Identify risks and issues, assign responsibility and drive risks and issues to resolution

    o Assure compliance with company project management policies and standards

    o Interface with customers to manage expectations

    • Integrate best practices, project standards, procedures, and quality objectives, including metrics for assessing progress into projects and provide feedback for improvement

    • Coach and mentor less experienced personnel across functional project management teams and within project teams

    Experience & Education: Minimum Requirements:

    • 4-5 years of experience required: Four (or more) years of experience managing successful projects. Solid knowledge of PMLC (Project Management Life Cycle).

    • 4 year degree required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, specialized training or equivalent work experience.

    • Licensing/Certification/Other: PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification through the Project Management Institute is required. OPEX PM Certification is preferred.
