**Work Schedule:** 4 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 12:00:00 PM)

**Pay Range:** $40.00 - $80 per hour

The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
This position will contribute to the research and educational missions of the College of Health Sciences by teaching courses within the Masters of Science (MS) in Cardiovascular Perfusion Program, as well as other duties associated with a full-time faculty appointment in the college. The faculty member’s annual assignment is negotiated with the Program Director and is based on the needs of the program. This position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and **Abilities:**
**Knowledge:** Master’s degree or doctoral degree preferred
Currently certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or within the first five years after obtaining CCP Emeritus status
Must have 3 years’ experience as a Perfusionist
Licensed by the State of Illinois or eligible for licensure in the state of Illinois
At least 2 years of teaching experience in higher education in an accredited educational program in perfusion preferred
Extensive knowledge of educational issues and trends in the health sciences and health sciences education
Excellent working knowledge and experience with PowerPoint, MS Office, Excel and web applications for distance learning
Experience with health professions and college professional programs

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the coordinator and a primary course instructor for courses offered within the college at the discretion of the Program Director, possibly including Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology I, Principles and Practices of Bypass with Simulation and co teaching Pathophysiology and Perfusion Techniques.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate instruction, to include course goals, objectives, learning activities and student evaluation methods (examinations, projects, assignments, etc.).
• Council and advise students; review student prerequisites and approve enrollment.
• Assign relevant projects and assignments, providing timely and meaningful feedback to facilitate learning.
• Coordinate courses and programs, as assigned.
• Conduct independent research in the faculty member’s area of specialty, including publication of peer-reviewed research.
• Seek out and pursue externally-funded grant opportunities.
• Supports the mission, values, goals and strategic objectives of the perfusion program.
• Supports and advocates for the perfusion program in the medical community.
• Serves as the program director in the director’s absence.
• Assists in programs development and participate in accreditation processes.
• Participate in assessment of program effectiveness.
• Facilitate clinical teaching opportunities for students in all phases of training of the program.
• Participate in planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating the education program.
• Participate in didactic and clinical teaching activities.
• Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the clinical education.
• Assist in training quarterly with the CV fellows about perfusion techniques.
• Assist in teaching a basic ECMO training for the Respiratory Therapy Students.
• Participate on college-wide and university-wide committees, including the admissions committee and advisory committee
• Other duties as assigned
