The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs at the Santee facility. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and supports continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities

+ Develop and maintain site-specific EHS policies and procedures in alignment with corporate standards.

+ Lead the employee safety team to foster engagement and accountability in safety initiatives.

+ Implement and drive the results of the Safety Index for the site, ensuring measurable improvements in safety performance.

+ Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; recommend and implement corrective actions.

+ Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; ensure timely reporting and documentation.

+ Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.

+ Maintain accurate records of safety training, incident reports, and regulatory compliance.

+ Monitor environmental compliance including air, storm water, spill plans and waste management.

+ Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DHEC).

+ Support emergency response planning and drills.

+ Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe work practices.

+ Track and report EHS metrics and KPIs to corporate leadership.

Qualifications

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field or equivalent experience.

+ 3+ years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in manufacturing or agricultural processing.

+ Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations.

+ Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Preferred:

+ Professional certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, ASP, HAZWOPER).

+ Experience with EHS management systems and reporting tools.

+ Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Work Environment

+ Primarily on-site at the Santee facility.

+ Exposure to industrial environments including noise, dust, and machinery.

+ Must be able to wear PPE and conduct field inspections.

**Pay Details:** $30.00 to $45.00 per hour
