             Olsten Staffing Services is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a Environmental Safety & Health Specialist in Santee, SC. The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs at the Santee facility. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and supports continuous improvement in EHS performance. Key Responsibilities + Develop and maintain site-specific EHS policies and procedures in alignment with corporate standards. + Lead the employee safety team to foster engagement and accountability in safety initiatives. + Implement and drive the results of the Safety Index for the site, ensuring measurable improvements in safety performance. + Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; recommend and implement corrective actions. + Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; ensure timely reporting and documentation. + Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors. + Maintain accurate records of safety training, incident reports, and regulatory compliance. + Monitor environmental compliance including air, storm water, spill plans and waste management. + Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DHEC). + Support emergency response planning and drills. + Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe work practices. + Track and report EHS metrics and KPIs to corporate leadership. Qualifications Required: + Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field or equivalent experience. + 3+ years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in manufacturing or agricultural processing. + Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations. + Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Preferred: + Professional certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, ASP, HAZWOPER). + Experience with EHS management systems and reporting tools. + Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Work Environment + Primarily on-site at the Santee facility. + Exposure to industrial environments including noise, dust, and machinery. + Must be able to wear PPE and conduct field inspections.
