• Engine Lathe Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

    We’re looking for a skilled **Machinist** with experience in both **CNC and manual machining** to join a precision manufacturing team known for producing high-quality, close-tolerance components. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, problem-solving, and precision.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of **engine lathes, boring machines, and related manual equipment** —often managing multiple machines simultaneously.

    + Determine and execute complex setups to ensure **tight concentricity and accuracy** over extended lengths.

    + Select appropriate **speeds, feeds, and tooling** , and plan the **sequence of operations** to achieve exact dimensional and surface finish requirements.

    + Modify or grind tooling as needed to suit different materials and machining conditions.

    + Perform or assist with machine setups, troubleshoot cutting issues, and make equipment adjustments as necessary.

    + Inspect and verify your own work using precision measuring tools to maintain strict quality standards.

    + Support the **development of specialized tooling** and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

    + Maintain a clean and safe work area, including performing machine clean-outs and basic maintenance.

    Qualifications

    + **2+ years of machining experience** , including both **CNC and manual turning or boring** .

    + Proven ability to **read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions** .

    + Strong **shop math** and analytical skills.

    + Proficient with a variety of **precision measuring instruments** (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc.).

    + Solid understanding of **machining practices and setup procedures** .

    + Experience using **cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices** safely.

    + Physically able to **lift and carry up to 50 lbs** .

    + Consistent and reliable **employment history** demonstrating dependability and strong work ethic.
